Feature Story Final
It was every day, the bullying, the constant questions, “Are you anorexic? Are you starving yourself? Do you even eat?” Niyah Goodwin felt helpless, she couldn’t help the fact that she was skinny. She knew she was underweight, but she didn’t think it would impact her confidence this much. The kids were malicious, they would ask the same questions knowing the answer to them. Yes, she did eat. No, she did not have an eating disorder. Through all of this, she felt so many emotions, but all she could express was anger. It was hard on her, and all she wanted to do was feel normal. Goodwin started working out at the beginning of high school to boost her confidence and get that body she was always aiming for. For the eating part of the magazine, I have several ideas of food I want to incorporate. I want to start with breakfast, since it is the first meal of the day. I would do two types of meal- one when you are in a rush and one when you have the time. So for the rush one, you would make chia pudding which is done overnight in a jar and you can take it to go in the morning. Chia pudding is high in protein and can be prepped in under minutes. The ingredients consist of chia and your chose of milk. The milk I would recommend would be non-dairy- almond, cashew, or coconut. Next I will be creating lunch, also a quick one and one that takes time. By no surprise, salad is always a way to go and it's simple and quick. One can make any type of salad, it just depends what you put inside. For instance, many people tend to put unhealthy dressings such as ranch dressing that adds bad calories to ones diet. A good lunch would be white rice, broccoli, and chicken and one can cook it in big portions ...
